ANTP – Association Of Nigeria Theater Arts Practitioner is an assembly of theatre practitioners with different languages and tribe under actors Guild of Nigeria.

ANTP was formally established at the University of Ibadan in 1976 to cater for Theatre and Allied Arts and it’s practitioners after about two years of informal rotational meetings organized on friend to friend basis by the founding fathers, Chief Dr. Hubert Adedeji Ogunde, Chief Kola Ogunmola, Chief Duro Ladiipo, Apostle Moses Olaiya Adejumo, Prince Oying Adejobi, Chief Akin Ogungbe, all of blessed memories. May their gentle sould rest in prefect peace.

The association was founded with the sole aim finding lasting solutions to the common problems which have continued to inihibit the progress and development of Theatre Arts Practice in Nigeria in general and Yoruba Land in particular. Since its inception, the association has continualy focused on bringing as many practicing theatre artistes as possible under one umbrella, through advocacy and building of an environment that encourages practice.
